Proceedings kick off around 8ish tonight, and there are plenty of gigs to choose from. Steve White & The Protest Family and Belter punk it up at the Waltham Forest Social Club in a free gig, while Robbing Eden and The Naked Apes also do a free show at the Queens Arms.
It’s the start of Stow Festival at the Hornbeam Cafe tonight, with Russell Swallow & The Wolf, Rhys Williams and Jessica Irvine paying at their singer/songwriter evening from 8pm. Entry is £6 for that one, or £11 with a vegetarian meal. Up at the Rose & Crown, Moses, From The Deep, Candidate, Blabbermouth and Bobbing For Apples are playing from 7.45pm for a fiver entry. For the Rose & Crown and Hornbeam gigs, if you get there early you might win some champagne.
Slightly later on, Stow Festival’s first dance night is happening! At Arubar, from 9.45pm, Helm of Awe and Tunnelmental Experimental Assembly will be playing live, with DJ sets from Neil Kleiner and JulJan. Entry is £4, and if you’re there before 11pm you could win some merchandise from the bands.
Last but by no means least, if you fancy a go at singing yourself, get down to The Victoria from 9pm for The Stow Festival Karaoke! Entry to that is free.
